Ian Johnson has been a Borough Councillor for the last 29 years and works hard to address issues and concerns that his residents raise. Over the last couple of years, he has argued against the excessive heights of proposed new developments and in favour of retaining the existing access for the aggregates yard at the station.  
  
Ian also persuaded the Council to stop charging for the burial of children in the Council's cemetery at Brookwood, as it is hard enough for relatives at such a difficult time without the additional burden of finding the burial fees.  

As Portfolio Holder for Housing since May, Ian has been promoting the provision of affordable housing and improvements to housing standards. The Council’s finances are in a poor state with huge debts and Ian is supporting colleagues to ensure sustainable finances while protecting services.
