In order to encourage the wider uptake of Green Education in schools a working group has been formed under the leadership of Liberal Democrat Cllr. Ken Howard, chairman of the Environmental Overview & Scrutiny Committee at Woking Borough Council. The committee has already agreed for WBC officers to construct a working plan to support Woking schools in delivering Green Education, hopefully with the involvement of the Council's partner organisations.
Anne Lee said that the Liberal Democrat votes increased by 17% in Woking at the General Election. She praised her team for delivering a result which went against the grain of a national swing to the Conservatives.

Woking Lib Dems adopted Dr Anne Lee as their candidate for the General Election at a packed meeting in the Maybury Centre on April 9. Guildford's MP Sue Doughty who ended a long history of Tory MPs at the last General Election was present to wish Anne well. She said that Woking's position strongly resembled Guildford's four years ago, and that today both the Tories and Labour were weaker than they had been then.
